About Us…
We are a partnership of local organizations and individuals who share resources and knowledge to educate and reduce substance abuse in Fayette County.
THIS PARTNERSHIP INCLUDES:
Mayor’s Alliance on Substance Abuse: The Ma
yor’s Alliance is an umbrella group open to anyone who wants to help mobilize and empower the community to address substance abuse. Although it receives in-kind support through the Mayor’s Office, the Mayor’s Alliance has an independent board of directors. It began in 1986 as part of Champions for a Drug-Free Kentucky.
Fayette County ASAP: Fayette County ASAP was chartered in 2002 as part of KY-ASAP network, which is funded through tobacco settlement funds. Currently under the KY Office of Drug Control Policy, ASAP is designed as a policy-making organization. It is regulated by KY State Statute, with a maximum of 20 board mem
bers, and the board must include representation from designated community entities.
These two organizations collaborate, hold joint meetings, have a joint executive committee, share resources, and work together to plan, implement and evaluate programming to address this important issue.
